Minister for Luwero Triangle, Luwero and Busoga, Alice Kaboyo, officially commissioned a three-classroom block at Kiwanabuzi Primary School in Kaliro District, funded through a Shs287 million project supported by the Office of the Prime Minister. The ceremony, attended by parents and community members, emphasized the need for parental involvement in education, with Kaboyo urging families to provide learning materials and ensure regular attendance. She also highlighted her commitment to improving government service accessibility in the region. The project, executed by National Enterprise Company Ltd, included construction of a three-classroom block, a six-stance lined pit latrine, a 10,000-litre water tank, and six notice boards, addressing critical infrastructure gaps at the school.
Kaliro District Chief Administrative Officer Richard Sajjabi Bukone pledged to build staff quarters to accommodate teachers and staff, while Member of Parliament for Bulamogi County, Bernard Mugoya, reiterated calls for parental engagement in education. Bukone also committed to ongoing monitoring of the facilities to ensure their maintenance. The expansion follows the school’s transition from a community-run institution in 2006 to a government-managed facility in 2007 due to rising enrollment demands. With 707 learners currently enrolled, the new infrastructure is expected to alleviate overcrowding and improve learning conditions.
