Nigerian software programmer Olaniran Sikiru claimed silver at the High-Tech Championship Final in Veliky Novgorod, Russia, becoming part of the country’s first-ever delegation to compete in the event. Competing in the Quality Control Specialist for Transport Logistics Processes category, Sikiru finished second among over 15,000 participants from 30 nations and Russia’s 89 regions. His mentor, Ojetimi Abdulfatai, a Nigerian technical expert, supported him throughout the 14–18 September 2026 competition, which featured 20 high-tech disciplines focused on emerging transportation and logistics technologies.
