On Monday, police sought to detain six more suspects linked to a Sh 72 million heist for 10 days to conclude investigations. The suspects were arrested in connection with a robbery at the Nairobi west branch of Standard Chartered bank on Thursday.

According to lead investigator Hudson Namusasi, the suspects will be held at Langata Police Station for further investigations. The police claimed to have found Sh4 million on one of the suspects, Chris Ayienda, who was arrested in Kisii.

Police also claimed to have recovered Sh3 million from another suspect, Vincent Owuor, who was arrested in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County. A brand new Subaru Forester car was also recovered from Owuor's house.

Namusasi told the magistrate that he has yet to scrutinize CCTV footage from Standard Chartered Bank headquarters and has not yet received call data from the mobile phones of the six suspects.

He said the State intends to charge the six with robbery with violence and that they will be charged as either main culprits or accessories to the heinous crime.
