On 1st October 2019, African-focused law firm Bowmans will expand into Mauritius and Ethiopia, marking a significant milestone in its growth strategy.
The expansion is driven by the firm's commitment to supporting its clients and contacts across the continent. According to Robert legh, chairman and senior partner of Bowmans, 'Mauritius and Ethiopia are key jurisdictions for many of our clients, and having a presence on the ground will enable us to better support them.'
As part of its expansion, Bowmans will be joining forces with Firmwise, a Mauritius-based firm specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity, Commercial law, Investment funds, Banking and finance, and tax compliance. This strategic partnership will benefit clients as Mauritius is fast becoming an international financial centre with favourable laws for foreign investors.
Additionally, Bowmans has formed a formal alliance with Aman Assefa and associate law office in Ethiopia, which specializes in high-end corporate and transactional legal matters. This development will see Bowmans establish a presence in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda.
