Olunga Praised for Leadership as Harambee Stars Draw with Uganda

On September 8, 2019, Harambee Stars played Uganda in an international friendly match at Kasarani, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Emmanuel Okwi opened the scoring for Uganda in the first half, but Harambee Stars rallied to equalize in the second half through Kenneth Muguna's goal.

Michael Olunga, who captained the team in the absence of Victor Wanyama, praised his teammates for their spirited performance.

"It was an honour to captain the Kenya national team (Harambee Stars) for the first time in my career," Olunga said on Twitter.

"The boys gave a good account of themselves. The future is positive. Thank you for the support -we really appreciate," he added.
