Kenya Newspapers Monday, September 9

On Sunday, September 8, MP Ndindi Nyoro of Kiharu constituency closely followed MP Maina Kamanda during a church service in Muranga County, according to reports published in Kenyan newspapers on Monday, September 9.

Additionally, the newspapers reported on the results of a by-election in the Kibra constituency, organized by the ODM party, as well as the sentiments expressed by members of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) task force and those opposing it.

On the other hand, police in Mombasa are still gathering evidence to determine if there was a plot to disrupt a court session attended by Chief Justice David Maraga on August 23. According to the police, the protesters were allegedly paid KSh 500 each to participate in the demonstration.

Meanwhile, in Bungoma County, a 92-year-old man named Christopher Namukongo was buried on Saturday, September 7, but his body was not placed in a coffin. Instead, it was wrapped in a blanket and placed in a coffin, contrary to his wishes.

Lastly, police investigating the theft of KSh 72 million from Standard Chartered bank have discovered that the heist was planned five months in advance. The thieves disabled the CCTV cameras in the G4S room where the money was stolen, and were able to escape with the cash.
