On September 9, 2019, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) made history by winning the Driftwood Sevens, defeating Impala Saracens 26-21 in the main cup final.

The Bankers' impressive performance earned them the overall national championship title with a total of 116 points, their first since 2014.

Their closest competitors, Mwamba and Top Fry, slipped up in their pool stages, dropping to the Challenge Trophy, while KCB secured their Cup quarterfinal slot by topping Pool A.

Mwamba RFC went on to lift the Challenge trophy after defeating Nakuru RFC, finishing second in the overall standings, while Kenya Harlequins beat Homeboyz in the third-place playoffs.

Menengai Cream Homeboyz finished third in the overall standings of the national sevens series.
