Launched in 2018, 'The Laundry Lady' is a Kenyan-based laundry and house cleaning service that has been making waves in the industry. Founded by Jackie Kamau, the company has been growing steadily, and we caught up with her to share her story.

Ms. Kamau, a business management graduate, had always been passionate about starting her own business. However, it wasn't until she found herself jobless in 2017 that she decided to take the leap and turn her idea into a reality.

With a washing machine, a dryer, and five cleaning ladies, 'The Laundry Lady' was born on September 1, 2018. Ms. Kamau's first client was an international school that needed their staff clothes cleaned. She recalls being nervous but excited about the opportunity to prove herself.

Today, 'The Laundry Lady' offers a range of services, including laundry and house cleaning, as well as a 'towel exchange service' for salons and spas. The company has seen tremendous growth, and Ms. Kamau is optimistic about the future.

When asked about her tips for running a successful business, Ms. Kamau emphasized the importance of persistence, consistency, and passion. She believes that these qualities are essential for overcoming challenges and achieving success.

As 'The Laundry Lady' celebrates its one-year anniversary, Ms. Kamau is excited about the progress the company has made. Despite not yet breaking even, the business is able to support itself, and Ms. Kamau is hopeful about the future.
