On September 8, 2019, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro found himself in a precarious situation after a clash with Maina Kamanda at a church service in Kiharu.

According to reports, Nyoro had attended a show at Inooro TV, a subsidiary of Royal Media services, which was scheduled to end at 9pm. However, the event took a dramatic turn when Nyoro and Maina Kamanda clashed, causing chaotic scenes that prematurely stopped the service.

Nyoro was accused of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, prompting him to seek refuge at Royal Media services. He was reportedly holed up at the media firm for hours, before sneaking out at midnight.

Several Tanga Tanga MPs, including Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Alice Wahome, and Kimani Ichungwa, showed up to support Nyoro at the RMS Kilimani offices. They vowed to spend the night at RMS and accompany Nyoro to any police station he would be summoned to in the morning.

Kenyan social media users were amused by the turn of events, given Nyoro's history of instigating the state against NASA supporters during and after the 2017 general elections.

As one Twitter user pointed out, 'Always be careful what you wish for.' Another user quipped, 'Since Ruto does not abandon his soldiers like Raila, let him come to the rescue of Ndindi Nyoro and stop his arrest.'
