Published on September 9, 2019, concerns have been raised over the International Arrivals section at Terminal 1E at the JKIA, Nairobi. According to Heather Waithera, the section is not welcoming to the elderly, the sick, and parents traveling with young children. They may struggle to stand in long queues, highlighting the need for improved efficiency at the Immigration Desk.

Waithera also suggests that the airport authorities consider improving the interior decor while addressing the current issues.

Separately, a recent clean-up of Lang'ata Road, Nairobi, has been marred by the failure to properly dispose of garbage. Tito Motari notes that the litter has remained heaped on the edge of the road for over a week, becoming a huge eyesore and a distraction to drivers on this busy road.

Prof Maina Muchara has expressed sadness over the violence against immigrants in South Africa. He attributes this to the government's inability to protect lives and property, and notes that this is a sad indication of the crumbling African stewardship of the former apartheid state.

Edwin Kariuki has also weighed in on the issue of graft, drawing parallels with the ancient Roman Empire. He notes that the Empire's failure to fight corruption hastened its downfall, and that President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts to tackle the vice have yet to yield major convictions.
