United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Chairman Johnson Muthama has denied allegations that he is considering leaving the Kenya Kwanza coalition to join the Azimio alliance. The UDA leader described the claims as fabricated political maneuvers aimed at undermining his party.
Muthama's statement followed the recent departure of UDA vice-chairman Kipruto Arap Kirwa, who joined the Raila Odinga-led Azimio coalition. The Machakos senator accused Azimio of spreading false information to create internal divisions within UDA, stating, "Kuzimia Coalition is imprisoned in a gridlock of lies and keeps on blurring the lines between facts and fables expecting us in UDA Kenya to buy their debilitating and fake narrative of defections until they eventually realize, I, Johnson Nduya Muthama is going nowhere."
He emphasized his continued role as UDA chairman, asserting the party remains fully committed to supporting Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid. "I’m still the chairman of UDA Kenya, the biggest and most vibrant political party in Kenya. That is the inexorable truth. I have and will remain focused, faithful and true to UDA Kenya’s cause until we form the next government under Dr. William Ruto," Muthama declared.
