On September 8, 2019, the trial of Godfrey Wamala, accused of murdering Ugandan singer Moses Ssekibogo alias Mowzey Radio, began at a Kampala court.

Mowzey Radio, a renowned Ugandan singer, died in January 2018 after sustaining injuries in a brawl at De Bar, a popular entertainment joint in Kampala.

David Ebanget, the first witness called to the stand, identified Wamala as the man who took Mowzey Radio's life. Ebanget told the court, 'He is the gentleman who took my brother's life Mowezey Radio. I know him by face and name, he is called Troy. I knew Radio for 10 years.'

According to the court proceedings, a frustrated Mowzey Radio had poured beer on some people at the bar, prompting Pamela Musimie and another person, Ategeka, to intervene by taking Radio out of the bar.

Outside the bar, Wamala allegedly grabbed the singer and beat him up, leading to Radio's death. Wamala then allegedly hid until he surrendered himself to the police a few weeks later, after Radio had already died.
