On September 8, 2019, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino sent a warning shot to McDonald Mariga, the Jubilee party flag bearer in the forthcoming Kibra by-elections.
According to a Facebook post by Babu Owino, he congratulated Bernard Otieno Okoth, the ODM nominations winner, and vowed to ensure that the ODM candidate emerges the winner of the Kibra by-election.
Part of Babu Owino's post reads, “Mariga hauna bahati when I’m in charge better step aside because the political wheel will molest you.”
