On September 7, 2019, the ODM party members in Kibra conducted themselves with the utmost respect and patience, as they voted for their preferred candidate. The Vice-Chair of ODM, Edwin Sifuna, commended them for their democratic spirit.

As reported by Edwin Sifuna, Imran Okoth, the brother of the late Ken Okoth, clinched the ticket to run for the Kibra MP seat under the ODM party. Imran's victory was a result of his hard work and dedication to his brother's projects, as he served as his Personal Assistant.

Imran Okoth will face off with other candidates, including Jubilee's Macdonald Mariga, ANC's Eliud Owalo, and Ford Kenya's Engineer Khamisi Butichi, in the Kibra by-election on November 7. The late Ken Okoth passed away on July 26, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.

Imran Okoth secured the ODM ticket with 4,382 votes, leaving behind nine other aspirants.
