Published on September 8, 2019, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has declared Bernard Otieno Okoth, alias Imran, as its candidate for the Kibra by-election set for November 7.

Imran Okoth, brother to the late Ken Okoth, secured the party ticket with 4,382 votes, leaving nine other aspirants behind.

The nominations process, which kicked off at 7 am and closed at 5 pm on Saturday, was marred by delays and missing voters' names in the IEBC register at several polling stations.

However, Mac Oremo, the Returning Officer, maintained that the exercise was conducted smoothly.

The ODM election board has a dispute tribunal that will handle any grievances raised by aspirants on Sunday.

The Kibra MP seat fell vacant following the death of Ken Okoth, who succumbed to colorectal cancer on July 26, 2019.
