Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) is on the cusp of securing their first Stanbic Bank National Sevens Rugby Series title since 2014, after a convincing performance at the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa.
The team, which has already won the inaugural Kakamega Sevens, Dala Sevens, and Christie Sevens titles this season, sailed into the quarter-finals of the Driftwood Sevens with a 22-12 win over Makande Muliro University.
They topped Group A after thrashing Administration Police 34-0 and Kenya Harlequin 31-0 in other matches played on Saturday.
Andrew Amonde, Geoffrey Okwara, Isaac Njoroge, and Vincent Onyala were among the KCB players who crossed the line in their win against the students, with Samuel Asari managing one conversion for the comfortable win.
The main cup quarter-finals will take place on Sunday morning, with the semi-finals and final later in the day.
