On Friday night, 26-year-old Kenyan athlete Timothy Cheruiyot secured the top spot in the IAAF Diamond League standings with a score of 1397 points, ahead of Jacob of Norway with 1362 points.
Cheruiyot's victory came with a time of 3 minutes 30.22 seconds, followed closely by Jakob of Norway in 3 minutes 31.62 seconds and Filip Ingegritsen in 3 minutes 33.33 seconds.
Meanwhile, World 5000m champion Hellen Obiri finished fourth in the women's 5000m event, clocking 14 minutes 33.90 seconds behind the top three finishers: Hassan Sifan of the Netherlands, Ethiopian GIDEY Letesenbet, and KLOSTERHALFEN Konstanze of Germany.
Benjamin Kigen of Kenya also competed in the men's 3000m steeplechase, finishing fourth with a time of 8 minutes 10.76 seconds.
