On Saturday, the ODM party nominations kicked off in Kibra, with 10 candidates vying for the party's flag in the upcoming by-elections. However, the exercise was marred by numerous complaints, including delays in opening polling centers and missing names from the voter register.

According to reports, confusion also hit some voting centers as voters' names were found to be missing from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) register. In Ayany center, the exercise had not yet begun due to inadequate human resources, officials said.

ODM National Elections Board (NEB) chairperson Judith Pareno assured that the challenges were being addressed. The nominations will be conducted in all 24 centers, comprising 180 polling centers gazetted by the IEBC.

On Thursday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna expressed hope that all candidates would behave well and make the exercise a success. The exercise had earlier been postponed due to the national census exercise.
