Published on September 7, 2019, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested three suspects in connection with a daring heist in Nairobi West.

The suspects were arrested in Kiambu County hours after police recovered 13 empty cash boxes and bags that were stolen from the G4S team in Thogoto Forest, Kiambu.

Other items recovered in Thogoto Forest included a mobile phone, a SIM card with serial number 89254021104175661927, and a G4S jacket.

Two vehicles believed to have been used in the robbery, Toyota Noah vehicles, were also recovered. The vehicles had allegedly been repainted to make it impossible for police officers to trace them.

On September 6, 2019, six G4S personnel were arraigned in court over links to the daring heist that happened in Nairobi West on Thursday morning.

The court allowed police to detain them for seven days at Lang'ata Police Station pending the conclusion of investigations into the crime.
