President Kenyatta Announces Government Reorganisation

On Friday night, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced a reorganisation of the government, aimed at enhancing efficiency and service delivery.

According to the President, the changes are designed to improve the effectiveness of the government's operations.

The reorganisation involves the transfer of eight Principal Secretaries to new positions, including:

  • Major General (Rtd) Gordon Kihalangwa, who has been transferred from the State Department for Defence to the State Department for Public Works.
  • Betty Maina, who has been moved from the State Department for Industrialization to the State Department for Environment and Forestry.
  • Francis Owino, who has been transferred from the State Department for Public Service to the State Department for Industrialization.
  • Julius Korir, who has been moved from the State Department for Infrastructure to the State Department for Public Service.
  • Prof. Dr. Fred K. Segor, who has been transferred from the State Department for Irrigation to the State Department for Wildlife Services.
  • Ibrahim Mohamed, who has been moved from the State Department for Environment and Forestry to the State Department for Defence.
  • Paul Maringa, who has been transferred from the State Department for Public Works to the State Department for Infrastructure.
  • The State Department for Crop Development has been merged with the State Department for Agricultural Research to create the State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.
  • Hamadi Boga, who has been transferred from the State Department of Agricultural Research to the State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.

These changes are part of the President's efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the government's operations.
