Reggae DJ Kriss Darlin has been fired from NTV after announcing his bid for the Kibra parliamentary seat through the ODM ticket.

According to Nairobi News, Darlin was a popular host of the Jam Rock show, but he was let go to pursue a career in politics.

"Kris has decided to enter politics and follow our work procedure, we had no other option but to relieve him of his duties as a Jam Rock host," Justus Tharao, head of programming at NTV, said.

Despite being let go, Darlin's contract with NTV's production company, Dohty Family, will continue.

The seat for Kibra has been a hot topic, with many vying for the position, including Jubilee's McDonald Mariga, who was announced as the party's candidate.

However, the announcement was met with skepticism, with many questioning the authenticity of the claim.

ODM's Raila Odinga was also mentioned in the mix, with Darlin reportedly seeking his endorsement.
