On Friday evening, President Uhuru Kenyatta, CGH, announced changes in the government affecting principal secretaries. The changes were made in a statement to newsrooms on September 6, 2019.
As part of the reorganisation, nine permanent secretaries were transferred to different ministries. The transfers include:
- Major General (Rtd) Gordon Kihalangwa, who was transferred from the State Department for Defence to the State Department for Public Works.
- Betty Maina, who was transferred from the State Department for Industrialization to the State Department for Environment and Forestry.
- Dr Francis Owino, who was transferred from the State Department for Public Service to the State Department for Industrialization.
- Julius Korir, who was transferred from the State Department for Infrastructure to the State Department for Public Service.
- Prof Dr Fred K Segor, who was transferred from the State Department for Irrigation to the State Department for Wildlife Services.
- Dr Ibrahim Mohamed, who was transferred from the State Department for Environment and Forestry to the State Department for Defence.
- Prof Paul Maringa, who was transferred from the State Department for Public Works to the State Department for Infrastructure.
- The State Department for Crop Development was merged with the State Department for Agricultural Research to create the State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.
- Prof Hamadi Boga was transferred from the State Department of Agricultural Research to the State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research.
