Published on September 6, 2019, a woman has dragged former State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi to court in a child maintenance case.
The woman, who was in a relationship with Itumbi between January and August 2018, claims that he deserted their child from birth and has refused to provide any form of support.
She alleges that Itumbi tried to convince her to abort the pregnancy when he discovered she was expecting, and has since blocked her, making it impossible for her to communicate with him about their child's welfare.
The woman is seeking Sh. 50,000 monthly subsistence allowance for their baby girl, as well as other orders, including having Itumbi's name included in the child's birth certificate and granting her actual and legal custody of the minor.
Itumbi has been ordered to provide a copy of his national identity card and to be granted reasonable access to the child.
The case will be heard on September 26.
