Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been making waves in the Premier League, scoring two league goals in four games for the London club. The 20-year-old credits his strong form to the guidance of manager Frank Lampard, Chelsea's record goal-scorer.

Published on September 6, 2019, Mount spoke about his experience working with Lampard, who made 648 appearances and scored 211 goals for Chelsea between 2001 and 2014.

"There is no better person to learn from than him," Mount said, highlighting the importance of Lampard's mentorship in his development as a player.

Mount's goals against Leicester City and Norwich City caught the attention of England boss Gareth Southgate, who called him up for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Mount is hoping to make his senior England debut against Bulgaria on Saturday, after missing out on a maiden cap in October last year.

"When I got called up first last year, he (Lampard) sat me down in his office and said I was called up," Mount recalled. "This time, he just spoke to me and said, 'you've been called up again, go into it working hard like you've been doing at Chelsea'.

"It's such an exciting time for English football," Mount said, reflecting on the opportunity to represent his country.
