His daughter, Bona Mugabe, took to social media to express her grief, writing,

"Zororai murugare baba, Mwari vaita kuda kwavo" (Rest in peace father, God has done his will.)

Multiple sources in Zimbabwe confirmed the news of Mugabe's death, which has sent shockwaves across the nation.

As the only daughter to Mugabe and his wife Grace, Bona had a close relationship with her father, making her grief all the more poignant.

Netizens have taken to social media to express their condolences, with many praising Mugabe's legacy and impact on the nation.

"My deepest condolences," wrote Mac Liah. "My condolences sister...our father will be sadly missed," added Havok ZW.
