Anerlisa Muigai has categorically denied allegations that auctioneers compelled her to vacate her Nairobi home, emphasizing her relocation to Nakuru was entirely her own decision. The businesswoman, daughter of Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja, addressed social media reports of property seizures in a series of Instagram posts.
"No auctioneers took anything from me, and my move has nothing to do with anyone but myself," she stated, using hashtags #Donexplaininganything and #Doingme. Muigai shared videos of her empty Lavington residence, including footage of her 2019 Range Rover Velar being sold, which she described as "a situation" she could not believe.
The controversy stems from a 2018 court case involving Mwananchi Credit and director Dennis Mwangeka Mombo, who sued Muigai for defamation over social media allegations. A 2017 loan dispute led to a Sh2.5 million damages award against her, with the court ruling some of her statements "extremely defamatory." The legal documents cited her failure to service the loan and "negligent" social media posts during mediation.
Muigai’s recent social media activity included messages about car dealers reselling her vehicle, stating "the parking lot is so empty." She did not address the ongoing legal implications of the defamation ruling in her public statements.
