Kenyan socialite Shakilla denied claims that she was forcibly removed from her Kilimani residence by a roommate over unpaid debts, addressing the controversy in 2022. She highlighted a circulating video showing her outside the property, which she stated was filmed over a year prior.
Shakilla questioned the intent behind sharing the footage, asking if the poster received compensation or recognition for disseminating the content. "I don't understand how capturing images and videos of people a year ago and sharing them now with bloggers would benefit you. Have they paid you or given you a mention? They've obscured your name, so you gain nothing from this," she said.
The socialite also criticized public perception of local celebrities, asserting that Kenyans fail to support influencers while demanding significant contributions from them. "People want to know who I am, yet they don't appreciate public figures. You're the ones tarnishing their reputations while asking where our people are," she added.
