Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) has committed Ksh8 million to revive Kenya's National Sevens Rugby Circuit, with the Christie Sevens Tournament serving as the second of six planned events. This follows a Ksh4 million sponsorship for the George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens, which marked the circuit's return after a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Tusker, KBL's flagship brand, will act as the official alcohol beverage partner for the tournaments, extending its support to event after-parties. The brand, celebrating its 100th anniversary, has maintained a long-standing association with Kenyan rugby, including shirt sponsorship for the Kenya XVs team.

Jean Okech, Tusker Brand Marketing Manager, emphasized the significance of the sevens circuit as a cultural and sporting platform. "We are delighted to renew our association with Kenyan rugby, a key connector for communities and consumers," Okech said. "This sponsorship aims to restore the circuit to pre-pandemic standards, building on decades of support for the sport." The Ksh8 million pledge covers the first two tournaments of the season.

Kenya Harlequins Chairman Michael Wanjala highlighted the partnership's role in ensuring fan engagement. "Tusker's continued support underscores its commitment to rugby development," he stated. The recent Christie Sevens drew large crowds to Nairobi's RFUEA Grounds, featuring performances by DJs Rudeboy and Twinizzle at the after-party.
