AFC Leopards ended Kakamega Homeboyz's dominance in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League by defeating them 2-0 in the Ingoo Derby at Bukhungu Stadium on May 29, 2022. The victory halted Homeboyz's attempt to extend their lead with two games remaining in the 2021-2022 season.

Collins Shivachi opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a header, while Kingsley Ojo Olaniyi added a second goal in the 57th minute. The result left Homeboyz tied with Tusker at 57 points, though Tusker maintained a four-goal advantage in goal difference.

The win moved AFC Leopards to sixth place with 45 points. Homeboyz now face FC Talanta and Kariobangi Sharks in their final fixtures, while Tusker's upcoming matches could determine the champion based on goal difference.

Kenya's Sevens team finished last at the London Sevens tournament, losing all six of their matches at Twickenham Stadium.
