Martha Karua, the leader of the Narc-Kenya party, has faced heightened public attention following her selection as Raila Odinga’s presidential running mate. Critics have raised questions about her divorce from Njoka, a relationship that produced two children: George Maringa, a KTN News reporter, and Dr. Wanjiru, a scholar and advocate for women’s education.
Speaking on Inooro TV, Karua criticized Deputy President William Ruto’s allies for prioritizing personal attacks over policy discussions. "We need issue-based politics. Stop asking irrelevant questions," she stated, emphasizing the need for candidates to focus on agendas rather than individual scrutiny.
Maringa, who joined KTN News in 2017 as an intern, recently tweeted about his mother’s nomination. Dr. Wanjiru, a lecturer and founder of Akili Dada, also serves as director of Africa Women in Agricultural Research. Karua recently affirmed her stance as a single mother, stating she has no apologies for her personal choices.
