Published on September 5, 2019, Shabana, a former Kenya Premier League giant, is facing a severe financial crisis, which has seen them lose their sponsorship deal with Dafabet worth Sh4.5 million per year.
The club's chairman, Boniface Ntabo, has appealed to well-wishers to help raise funds to enable the team honour their matches this season.
According to club officials, Shabana runs on a budget of Sh1.2 million per month, but they have been struggling to meet their financial obligations.
The fans have launched the 'Fans for Funds' campaign, where financial donations are channelled through M-Pesa, with the aim of raising at least Sh160,000 to enable the club honour their weekend fixture against Muranga Seals at Gusii Stadium.
