Nevian Moraa, who operates a shop in the CBD, lost Ksh. 22,000 in the scam.

According to Moraa, a man approached him pretending to be a customer who wanted to deposit Ksh. 100.

After completing the transaction, the customer claimed that the money had not been sent, and further claimed that he had contacted the customer care department and they had confirmed that the transaction did not go through.
