Over 280 golfers participated in the seventh Safaricom Golf Tour event at Karen Golf Club on May 13-14, 2022, marking the latest stage in a series designed to uncover emerging talent.

The tournament followed a previous event in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, and featured a combined competition format at the Karen facility. Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom's Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the initiative's role in fostering grassroots development, stating, 'It reinforces that many of our local golfers require platforms to showcase their skills.'

Since its launch in January 2022, the tour has engaged nearly 2,000 players across corporate, club, and amateur divisions. Additional 2,000 participants received training through affiliated programs. The series has expanded to locations including Nanyuki, Limuru, Muthaiga, Nyanza, Machakos, and Eldoret.

Safaricom collaborates with the Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) to support youth development. Amateur golfers can join the JGF for a Sh1,000 fee to access club facilities nationwide.
