Published on September 5, 2019, Nairobi News understands that Dennis Oliech, a 34-year-old former Kenya international, is eyeing a coaching career.
He has indicated a willingness to enroll in a CAF License course, which is currently on offer from Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
The course will be held in various towns across the country over the next two months.
Oliech's illustrious playing career, spanning 16 years, has taken him from Kenya to Qatar, France, Abu Dhabi, and finally back to the Kenyan Premier League.
However, his latest stint at Kenyan champions Gor Mahia ended in acrimony last month, with Oliech being fired amid allegations of absconding duty and indiscipline.
He has denied any wrongdoing and vowed to sue the club.
Despite this, Oliech has hinted at continuing his playing career in the Kenyan league, specifically mentioning AFC Leopards and Waziuto as his ideal destinations.
Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa said the CAF License course is one of the federation's key agendas for football development.
"It is for this reason that we have offered courses free of charge to not only ensure that our players are handled by qualified personnel but to also bridge a capacity gap that had in the past denied our coaches job opportunities both at home and abroad," Mwendwa said.
