Published on September 5, 2019, Tottenham Hotspur's Uefa Champions League squad for the group stage matches has been announced, with Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama included.

Wanyama was expected to leave Spurs before the European summer transfer window closed on September 2, but the deal did not materialize.

According to reports, Belgian side Club Brugge and Spurs had agreed on a Sh1.5 billion transfer fee, but the deal fell through due to various reasons, including Wanyama's family not giving their blessing for the move.

Wanyama was also interested in joining former employers Celtic in Scotland, but the deal did not materialize.

He has not featured for Spurs this season after reporting irritation in his knee early this month.

Wanyama was on the bench during Spurs' opening match against Aston Villa on August 10, but was omitted completely against Newcastle (August 25) and Arsenal (September 1) amid transfer rumours.

Spurs will face off with German giants Bayern Munich, Olympiacos (Greece), and Red Star Belgrade (Serbia) in Group 'B' of the Champions League.
