Rev Kathy Kiuna, a celebrated stylist and city pastor, has revealed that she grew up in a religious family with a strict mother who was a disciplinarian of the highest order.
According to Kiuna, her mother was a no-nonsense parent who ensured they grew up with strict discipline, but also had a loving side that treated them to good things.
"My very own mama. 4.5ft tall but don't mess with her. One eye told us what to do while another eye told us what not to do. She didn't have to open her mouth. She was a teacher and disciplinarian of the highest order," Kiuna said in a post celebrating her mother.
Despite being a tough parent, Kiuna's mother was also a good one who took good care of her and her siblings, taking them to church every Sunday and treating them to exclusive hotels and movies.
"On the other side of discipline she was sooooo loving and would really treat us to good things. Movies, lunches and dinners in exclusive hotels and took us to church every Sunday. Nairobi Baptist was our church then and we loved their Sunday school," Kiuna shared.
Kiuna's mother, who is popularly known as 'Mum' by her followers, has in the past revealed that during her late teenage years, she was a bad girl who smoked, drank, and even tried weed at some point.
