Blind Dates Gone Wrong: Kenyan Women Share Their Shocking First Date Experiences ¶
September 5, 2019
Going on a blind date can be nerve-wracking, but for some Kenyan women, their first dates turned out to be disastrous. From being asked for sex on the first date to being taken to a conference hall full of retired women, these women have had it all.
According to various women who shared their experiences, some men have a lot to learn when it comes to dating etiquette. From being too loud and noisy to being a glutton, these men have left a lasting impression on their dates.
One woman, Aroma Khainga, shared that her date asked her to go for a massage, which she politely declined. Another woman, Marion Ogallo, was asked for sex on the first date, while Alice Cherono's date was too focused on eating and not paying attention to her.
Some men have also been known to be too presumptuous, with one woman, Cindy Betty, being asked to go with him wherever he wanted, including having children with him. Another woman, Lydia Wangeci, was asked to pay for her own food after her date had already eaten.
These women are not alone in their experiences, with many others sharing similar stories of men who have failed to impress on their first dates. It's clear that some men need to up their game when it comes to dating and treating women with respect.
As one woman, Nimmoh Ngunjir, put it, 'Dude was a HR manager in one of these big hotels in Nairobi...Apo nikajua nimeangukia bwana ako na pesa na nitapata Job pap!' It's clear that some men are more interested in their own interests than in getting to know their dates.
It's time for Kenyan men to take a page from the likes of Prince Harry and Nigerian superstar Davido, who are known for their romantic gestures. By treating women with respect and kindness, men can improve their chances of getting a second date and building a meaningful relationship.
