On September 4, 2019, a shocking incident occurred in Riruta, Nairobi, where a senior police officer was shot dead by his colleagues.
Benson Indeche, the Deputy OCS of Riruta Police Station, was gunned down at 3am by officers responding to a distress call from a boda-boda operator.
The operator had accused Indeche of harassing him with a pistol, prompting the call for help.
When the officers arrived in two boda-bodas, they asked Indeche to surrender, but he allegedly shot one of them on the wrist.
The officers responded and shot Indeche five times, leaving him dead.
He was rushed to Nairobi Women's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
