On September 5, 2019, a tense confrontation erupted between members of the Genge rap group P-Unit and authorities in Kenya.

The incident occurred during a music video shoot for a song featuring Yvonne Darcq, where the group's dancers, minors who had been given permission by their parents and were on school leave, were unfairly arrested and detained for over 12 hours.

P-Unit member Frasha shared a clip of the confrontation, stating that the dancers were released after their parents were contacted and the matter was cleared with the police.

Frasha expressed his frustration, saying, 'These were young boys with dreams and we gave them a platform for them to be seen by the world. Little did we know how the day would end.'

He also shared his concerns about the harassment artists face daily, stating, 'This is the kind of harassment artists go through every day. As we try to make an honest living and create opportunities for the next generation police still arrest us. Kids can be actors, dancers, artists or anything they want, don’t kill their dreams with such stunts.'
