On September 4th, 2019, Canada's Express Entry program issued 3,600 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence in a new draw.
With this latest draw, the total number of ITAs issued through the Express Entry program so far this year has reached 59,800, surpassing the expected 81,000 ITAs for the year. In comparison, 89,800 ITAs were issued last year.

Express Entry provides a pathway for foreign nationals to migrate to Canada as permanent residents or for those already in the country on non-immigrant visas to gain permanent legal status.
Each Express Entry draw typically takes place every two weeks, with a minimum score set for each draw. The score is based on factors such as age, education, skills, work experience, family ties to Canada, and proficiency in either English or French. The highest-ranking candidates are placed into a draw, with winners receiving ITAs that allow them to apply for permanent residency.
