Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) is set to undergo a major restructuring, which may result in the loss of jobs for approximately 50 employees.
According to Hudson Andambi, the acting Managing Director of KPC, the company's staff will be reduced from 1,620 to 1,572 following a review of its organizational structure.
Of the existing 1,620 staff members, 1,466 are on permanent and pensionable terms, while 23 are on contract basis. Additionally, 70 employees are on temporary employment, and 61 are serving on contract at the Morendat Training and Conference Centre.
Published on September 4, 2019, the restructuring plan comes at a time when the company is facing major challenges, including high-profile cases that have led to the arrest and resignation of former top officials.
The company recently advertised for the position of Managing Director, attracting over 140 candidates.
