Published on September 4, 2019, Kenya Airways will host the 2019 International Air Transport Association (IATA) regional aviation forum for Africa on September 17 in Nairobi.

The forum, themed 'Aviation Connecting and Enriching Africa,' will bring together the international aviation community to discuss open skies, the economics and sustainability of Africa's air transport industry, digital transformation, and flight safety.

According to Muhammad Ali Albakri, IATA's Regional Vice President for Africa and the Middle East, Africa's aviation industry is set to experience strong growth, with the industry expanding by nearly 5 percent annually over the next 20 years.

However, Albakri noted that the continent's economy cannot take off while its runway is obstructed, highlighting the need for regulatory mechanisms that support sustainable growth and deliver quality infrastructure.

Kenya Airways' Chairman, Michael Joseph, and Chief Executive Officer, Sebastian Mikosz, will be among the keynote speakers, with Albakri delivering the keynote speech.
