On September 29, the BMW Berlin Marathon will feature a star-studded men's field, with the addition of Kenenisa Bekele, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and 17-time world champion.
Bekele's impressive resume includes world records for the 5000m and 10,000m events, which have stood for 15 years.
He made his marathon debut in 2014, setting a course record of 2:05:04 in Paris. In 2016, he won the Berlin Marathon with a personal best of 2:03:03, an Ethiopian record at the time.
Bekele will face off against fellow Ethiopians Guye Adola, Leul Gebrselassie, Sisay Lemma, and Birhanu Legese in what promises to be an exciting race.
