On Tuesday night, a bus headed from Mombasa to Homa Bay County witnessed a tragic incident that has left many in shock. The incident occurred on September 4, 2019.
Elisha Anyonyi, 23, was traveling to his rural home in Kanyamwa, Ndhiwa constituency with his wife and their two children. They had left Mombasa at 2 pm, but their journey took a devastating turn at Mtito Andei.
According to Eric Guoma, a passenger on the bus, Elisha alighted from the bus and went to the bathroom. When he returned, he seemed distressed, shifting in his seat. His wife realized that Elisha was not well and pleaded with the conductor to stop the bus at the nearest hospital.
However, her plea was ignored, and they proceeded with the journey until they got to Kisii town, where they realized that Elisha had died. The driver then drove to Homa Bay Police Station, where the body was removed from the vehicle.
Homa Bay Sub County police boss Sammy Koskey confirmed the incident, stating that the wife revealed that her husband had been living with asthma. The body is currently at the Homa Bay County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
