On September 3, 2019, Saumu Mbuvi shared her side of the story with Radio Jambo's Massawe Jappani in an exclusive interview.
Her father, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, had been at the center of a storm following allegations of drug peddling. Saumu took to the airwaves to clear her father's name, stating that the allegations had taken a toll on her mental health.
She claimed that her father's honest hard-earned wealth was being used to help the needy, contrary to online rumors suggesting otherwise. Saumu also blamed 'keyboard warriors' for spreading false information about her father.
'It hurts when people write hurtful things about my father yet they don’t know the kind of person he is. My father is selfless and makes a honest living. He’s currently supporting close to 200 children,' Saumu said in the interview.
