The Africa Leadership Summit, scheduled for September 5 and 6, 2019, has been making waves in Kenya, thanks in large part to the presence of Bishop T.D. Jakes.
As the founder and senior pastor of The Potter's House, a non-denominational megachurch in the US, Jakes is no stranger to drawing large crowds and commanding attention.
His high profile has undoubtedly contributed to the hype surrounding the summit, with many attendees eager to catch a glimpse of the charismatic pastor.
However, this has also led to concerns that Jakes' fellow speakers may be overshadowed by his presence.
Strive Masiyiwa, Africa's eighth richest man, worth approximately Ksh237 billion, is also set to speak at the summit, but his light may be dimmed by Jakes' star power.
The summit will be held at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, and will feature a fireside chat dinner with Jakes and Masiyiwa, as well as a full day summit.
Registration fees for the summit range from Ksh15,000 to Ksh75,000, with the latter offering a V.V.I.P ticket to the dinner fireside chat, which has already sold out.
