On September 3, 2019, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) shared a video on social media that captured the interest of many Kenyans.
The video showed DCI boss George Kinoti being received at the National Police College (NPC) main campus in Kiganjo by the commandant King'ori Mwangi and other senior officials.
They were there to oversee the official opening ceremony for the Advance Crime Investigations course for members of Inspectorate and the NCO's Crime Investigations Course.
However, what caught the attention of many was why one member of the quarter guard platoon marched in a different direction from the rest of the group when the parade was dismissed.
According to protocol, one member of the quarter guard is instructed to march back to the guard room, which is supposed to be constantly manned by a police officer.
Many Kenyans took to Twitter to express their confusion and amusement at the incident, with some questioning whether the officer had missed the memo or was intentionally marching alone.
