Deputy President William Ruto's visit to Kibra constituency in Nairobi on September 3, 2019, marked a significant moment in the by-election campaign.
At the official opening of Moi Girls High School's new wing, Ruto addressed residents at various locations, discussing government projects.
Although he avoided discussing politics during the event, Ruto assured residents that the government is committed to improving their lives through development and education investments.
"Investing in basic education infrastructure improves students' exam results and fosters a positive relationship between students and teachers," Ruto explained on his Twitter page.
Despite his reluctance to discuss politics, Ruto hinted that he would engage with residents on election day, November 7, 2019.
Some analysts believe Ruto's visit to Kibra is a strategic move to gauge the political atmosphere before the by-election, which is expected to pit his party against Raila Odinga's ODM.
