On Tuesday, police foiled a robbery attempt at Mlolongo town in Athi River, resulting in the deaths of two suspected thugs.
According to Athi River Sub-county Police Commander Samuel Mukuusi, the two suspects were part of a three-man gang that attempted to break into a business premise at Petmark area.
However, the security officers ambushed the suspects, leading to a shootout. The third suspect managed to escape with bullet wounds.
During the operation, the police recovered a pistol and a magazine with four rounds of ammunition from the suspects.
