Christian Eriksen, the 27-year-old Tottenham midfielder, has been linked with several top clubs, including Manchester United and Real Madrid, as his contract with Spurs enters its final year.
Speaking at Denmark's training base in Spain, Eriksen revealed that he wishes his future could be resolved 'like in Football Manager,' a popular video game that allows players to control the fate of their virtual teams.
'I wish I could decide just like in Football Manager, but unfortunately I can't,' Eriksen told reporters on September 3, 2019.
Eriksen, who has made 210 Premier League appearances for Spurs since joining from Ajax in 2013, has made two starts and two substitute appearances for the team this season.
He was cryptic about the events leading up to the European transfer window closing on Monday, but expressed his ability to focus on his country's upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.
'For me, it's not hard to clear my head,' Eriksen said. 'I don't read much of what is written. And now I have been involved for many years, where there have been many rumours every year.'
